Why Content Management Fails. Why do CMS projects almost always fail? Adaptive Path partner Jeffrey Veen explains it all.

Mike moves on. It is with mixed emotions that we announce that founding Partner Mike Kuniavsky will be leaving Adaptive Path to pursue his many (many, many) other professional interests. This is a bittersweet transition, but Mike will remain a valued colleague, friend, and consultant to the company, and we will miss his insight, his humor, and his big glasses.

As an Adaptive Path founder, Mike has been involved in every aspect of the company’s growth since it was first conceived in 2000. As with all seven founding partners, he collaborated in building and managing the company and has worked tirelessly for our clients. In addition, he was critical in determining the structure of our service offerings, and his knowledge of user research methods has been crucial to the development of Adaptive Path’s techniques. His book, “Observing the User Experience,” remains a key text used by the company.

While we’re sad to see Mike go, we’re excited that he can now turn his attention to the other ideas he’s been pursuing. We encourage you to follow Mike as he develops his ideas on “smart furniture” and other issues of ubiquitous computing on his weblog, Orange Cone. You can also attend Mike’s lectures on these topics at several upcoming conferences around the globe, including: CHI 2004 in Vienna, The Second International Conference on Appliance Design in Bristol (UK), and the XP Agile Universe conference in Calgary.

We wish Mike well and can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
