2004 Events: Jesse’s big in New York City

Seats in Jesse James Garrett’s July 22 seminar in New York City are filling up fast. In fact, we’ve moved the event to a new location to handle the demand. We’ll be just a few blocks north, at the American Conference Center, on Third Avenue and Forty-Ninth Street.

A little about what you’ll learn:

Product designers around the world have come to rely on the tools and techniques Jesse has developed. During this full-day seminar, Jesse will show you how to apply his concepts to simplify the complex challenges of creating products that meet business goals while satisfying user needs. Along the way, he’ll share his insights on the next wave of user experience innovation.

Although we’ve moved to a larger location, seating is still limited. And, as always, friends of Adaptive Path get a 15% discount on all registrations. Use the discount code FOAP when registering.

Six Design Lessons From the Apple Store

by Jesse James Garrett

Here in San Francisco, Apple buffs are rejoicing at finally getting an Apple Store of our very own. (Sure, there’s been one across the Bay for months, but it’s just not the same.) There’s a lot about the Apple Store experience that we can apply to the design of many other kinds of products — and a few lessons we can take from Apple’s missteps as well.

Scholarships for Adaptive Path Workshops

We’re busy with the final preparations for User Experience Week 2004 being held this year in Washington D.C. from August 16th-19th. We’ve planned a full week of valuable training and terrific after-hours events. We hope you’re able to join us.

If you work for a not-for-profit organization, don’t let lack of funds be an obstacle to joining us for our workshops. We understand it’s difficult for many groups to find money for training and other necessities because we’ve worked side-by-side with numerous not-for-profit web teams to address the unique challenges they face. That’s why we offer several scholarships to each of our 2004 workshops for not-for-profit employees.

Apply soon because we’ll be choosing the scholarship recipients for Washington D.C. by July 16th.
