New for 2004: Adaptive Path Reports
Our New Year is already off to a busy start; Adaptive Path is announcing Adaptive Path Reports. Adaptive Path Reports are written to provide you with today’s best practices by drawing on our collective expertise. We’re tackling challenges like measuring user experience ROI and implementing content management systems. We’ll offer practical advice for immediate improvements and solutions that we’ve refined over years of experience.
Today, we’re starting out with the first two reports in our Simple Solutions series. These reports address common interaction design and information architecture problems — complete with wireframes and flow diagrams. You can implement them as is, or use them as a starting point for creating your own custom solution. Our first two Simple Solutions deal with information architecture for boutique software sites and interaction design for user registration and login.
Over the next few weeks, look for reports on:
- Site content search engines
- Metadata and CMS implementation
- Heuristic evaluation techniques
- Measuring the ROI of user experience
Plus we’ve got a lot more planned for later in 2004.
Jesse Evaluates The Wannabes
Our own Jesse James Garrett has written one of the first Adaptive Path Reports, and it’s already getting a lot of attention.
Jesse’s report, “User Experience Analysis: Presidential Campaign Sites,” analyzes each of the Web sites of the nine major Democratic candidates for President of the United States. This competitive evaluation examines design strategies that make campaign sites work effectively, outlines dozens of best practices and notable elements of the user experience, and provides six pages of best practice recommendations.
Jesse’s report is available for free to our newsletter subscribers.
Adaptive Path at the 2004 IA Summit
Come join the Adaptive Path partners for the 2004 IA Summit in Austin, TX. We’ll be speaking at and attending the world’s largest meeting for information architecture professionals. And we’re putting together an Adaptive Path party.
Join us for our Three-Year Anniversary Party on February 27, from 9 p.m. onward, at Club DeVille - 900 Red River St.
All the partners and staff will be there, along with friends, colleagues, and IA Summit attendees. (Word to the wise: Jeffrey Veen always has more drink tickets.) All are welcome!
During the day, Adaptive Path folks will be teaching several sessions at the Summit. Sessions we’re involved with include:
February 27, 2004
- “Managing Design Politics,” Lane Becker and Janice Fraser
- “User Experience and ROI,” Janice Fraser and Scott Hirsch
February 29, 2004
- “Brand Driven Information Architecture,” Jesse James Garrett
- “Then A Miracle Occurs…,” Peter Merholz
