Measure Map Acquired by Google

If you haven’t already heard, Adaptive Path is proud to announce that we’ve sold Measure Map! The analytics service designed for bloggers was recently acquired by Google.

This acquisition is the culmination of Adaptive Path’s first initiative to develop products in house. We set out to provide bloggers with a powerful, simple way to understand participation on their blogs. Our users and the media have praised Measure Map as an innovative approach to analytics. The acquisition by Google reaffirms our belief in the product and the people involved.

Jeffrey Veen, an Adaptive Path founder and Product Director for Measure Map, will make the journey to Google along with several other members of the development team. Jeff will retain ties with Adaptive Path as a good friend and colleague.

We wish Jeff the best, and couldn’t be happier for him and the others who will be headed to Google. For more information about Measure Map and Google’s acquisition, you can read Jeff’s blog post on the Google blog.

Indi Young’s New Path

Adaptive Path founding partner Indi Young is moving on. After five memorable years with the company she worked so tirelessly to build, Indi is shifting her focus toward writing. (Yes, the mental model book!). Indi is a gifted colleague and exceptional consultant, so of course we’re sad to see her go, but our collaboration will continue.

Indi is an applications and navigation guru who began her work on the Web more than ten years ago. She is the creator of our acclaimed mental model and gap analysis processes.

As part of our strong community of peers, Indi’s relationship with Adaptive Path isn’t ending, just changing. She’ll continue to work seamlessly with Adaptive Path as a consultant, trainer, and creative colleague. This transition gives her the freedom to focus on her Mental Model Research, and we’re pleased to see Indi pursuing her passion for this important method for user-centered design.

On behalf of Adaptive Path and all of our friends and colleagues here and abroad, we offer our warmest wishes for Indi’s continued success.

CMS in San Francisco

Join Adaptive Path’s Senior Information Architect Chiara Fox on April 27 for her excellent workshop, “Make Your CMS Work for You.”

Chiara is the author of our report “Ten Strategies for Content Migration”, and is a veteran of four large-scale content migrations — including one that involved integrating content in ten languages on 23 sites. Her full-day workshop gives you step-by-step pointers that will help you get your content in shape.

Whether this is your first time considering a content management system, or you’ve been burned by failed implementations in the past, Chiara can help you do it right. Early Bird discounts are available through March 26.

AP Podcasts from Janice and Lane

Stanford’s Entrepreneurial Thought Leadership Forum is a weekly seminar series where business leaders are asked to share their ideas on entrepreneurship. Janice recently spoke to undergraduates and community members about her successes and failures as an entrepreneur.

Listen to the podcast of her speech.

Lane was recently interviewed by Venture All Stars’s Tim Reha during his “Face to Face” podcast. Venture All Stars is a Seattle-based business organization with a reach that spans the U.S. business community.

Listen in for a preview of Adaptive Path’s two-day workshop, “Beyond Usability: Designing the Complete User Experience”.

User Experience Week Topics

Join us this August in Washington D.C. for our annual User Experience Week. We’ve just uploaded a new topic list that’s too lengthy to outline, so go have a look. This list is just a teaser of what’s to come, so we’ll let you know when we post the full agenda in April.

The Early Bird discount is only available until May 1, so put aside those funds in your training budget now. This event is packed with great sessions, and User Experience Week is always an excellent chance to get to know an international group of user experience professionals.
