Buzzword

What could possibly make words slicker than a politician on primary night? Adobe’s new online word processor Buzzword. It’s built on Flash and is amazing to look at and use. When you’re in it, you can almost forget it’s a web app. Still in preview, but worth checking out.

I’d love to see this run on AIR with direct ties to the online version. Giving you the option to work on and offline with auto syncing once you connect. Add blog editing capabilities and I’d be in love.

No doubt! I was just saying how I need buzzword offline in an Air app. Blog integration would rock.

They have absolutely nailed editing tables, flowing text around images and margins. The left to right hide/show of icons makes me a little dizzy but I suppose they could be concerned Microsoft might not like a ribbon inspired hide/show. Scrolling in OS X is buggy and so is copy/paste.

All said, a beautiful application with a few rough edges.

Happy to hear you like Buzzword. Just want to let you know that we’re working on the AIR app, so you will be able to work online and offline with full document synch. No release date, yet, but it’s our top priority. As for blogging, we just added HTML output on our latest release (Preview 7). That’s as close as we’ll be to helping bloggers for now. Look for PDF output and some other cool features in the near future.
