The Elements, Laws & Attributes of Interaction Design
Tuesday, August 1, 11:45-12:30 PM
by Dan Saffer
Motion, time, space... these are some of the raw materials that interaction designers have to work with. How those elements should and do come together form some of the "laws" of interaction design: Moore's Law, Fitts' Law, Hick's Law, Tesler's Law, the Poka-Yoke Principle, direct vs. indirect manipulation, feedback and feedforward. Together, these should make products and services that have the attributes of good interaction design. This presentation is for both newcomers to the field and experienced designers who want to brush up on the basics.
