Rails Day 2005 was a success by just about any metric and it’s that time of year again. Rails Day 2006 is just around the corner and we at Adaptive Path are proud to be sponsoring again. For those that missed it last year, Rails Day is a 24-hour hackathon, 1-3 developers working to develop the best application possible in a single day using Ruby on Rails. I’ll be judging this year along with Nicholas Seckar, one of the core Rails developers and a coworker from the Measure Map product. I admit to some initial skepticism about the hullabaloo and sudden popularity of the Rails framework, but Measure Map provided a great proving ground for me. Based on last years entrants, I don’t think I’m stepping out on a limb to predict that there will be some amazingly robust applications coming out of the 24-hour contest window. If you want to participate, jump over to the Rails Day 2006 website. If you don’t, keep an eye out for news of the winners.
