Interaction Design with a View

by carrie on September 8th, 2006

Congratulations to our colleague Dan Saffer on last night’s San Francisco launch of his book “Designing for Interaction.” Interaction designers from Google, Yahoo, Dubberly Design Office, Cooper, Fluid, and others joined friends, family and the AP team to celebrate atop the Hotel Vitale. The pix are here.

We’ll launch Dan’s full-day “Designing for Interaction” workshop in the Adaptive Path offices on September 20, then onto Sydney (September 26) and New York City (October 25).

UX Week Field Trip

by carrie on July 14th, 2006

It’s official: we’ve secured a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Air and Space Museum’s Paul E. Garber Facility for Preservation, Restoration, and Storage. NASM staff will give us the lowdown on how the Museum addresses conservation, restoration, and the graphic and structural fabrication of exhibits—all the invisible activity that goes into presenting the fascinating stories behind the country’s aeronautical history.

Thanks to the efforts of NASM’s Barbara Brennan, who is presenting the morning session “Designing America by Air” on our final conference day, we have been invited to tour the three Garber exhibition buildings, which are otherwise closed to the public.

I think this is going to be a highlight of UX Week.
