by Adaptive Path

Welcome to the first edition of Signposts for 2009, which comes to you live today from the San Diego airport.

The last Apple attended MacWorld in San Francisco spawned this fantastic interaction design and concept video.

The IxDA got down to discussing design strategy. Check out Barbara Ballard, Peter Merholz and Andrew Otwell’s comments. It’s good stuff. Of course, it was all started by former Adaptive Path instigator Dan Saffer, now a partner over at Kicker Studio.

The director of Helvetica, a staff favorite has a new film coming out: Objectified.

We’er headed to CES and want to check out the Palm Pre.

A slick visual history of the Internet. Hooray for interoperability!

Impress your friends, clients and even your mom by learning how to create a sketchcast.

Maybe this recession thing they have going on won’t be good for design.

What will change everything? Some very smart people offer their opinions.

A macroeconomic primer for designers. Trust us, it’s both interesting and important.

Pachube looks cool. You can connect, tag and share real time sensor data from objects, devices, buildings and environments around the world.

Neville Lee is clever. Check out his Arduino mini powered motion responsive 3d character game.

And finally, we can’t start 2009 without a look back at 2008. Here are some of the best information visualizations of last year.

At Adaptive Path, our ideas are driven by the work we do. We do consulting for user interface and user experience design, and offer conferences, training and education for UX designers.

From field ethnography, UI wireframes and task flows, to visual design and implementation, we do it and we teach it.
