UX designers aren’t the only one who look to Starbucks for inspiration in their work. This engineer compares the Starbucks line-of-cups to an asynchronous software program that takes in requests (cashier) and sends out responses (barista).

The talented folks over at Stimulant have put together a very cool Microsoft Surface + Wii mashup worth checking out.

Seth Godin’s newest book, Tribes, was released this week.

This beautiful LED wall in Norway transforms shadows into light and is… well, it’s just pretty!

RFID might finally get the kick in the pants it needs to start living up to it’s potential with GE’s battery-free sensor breakthrough. The new platform uses a conventional RFID tag coated with a chemically or biologically sensitive film that draws power wirelessly from a handheld reading device.

The folks over at WorldChanging have some advice on how to trace the carbon in common household products.

Yahoo’s Onesearch makes the convoluted process of searching for something on a mobile handset a whole lot less painful with their new voice-powered search.
