Slow News Day? Go Topless!

by peterme

The LA Times story on topless meetings, featuring commentary from Todd and Dan, spurred a number of television news crews to our offices yesterday. The one that gives us the most play came from local NBC affiliate channel 11:

CBS affiliate channel 5 was the most sensationalist:

It even made it to ABC Nightly News with Charles Gibson, who were wise to include our friends at Dogster, because, hey, dogs make for great video!

Congrats to Dan on his coinage (even if it doesn’t have only 4 letters.)

I love how the NBC one is super informative, but the CBS one is all about you guys “declaring war! on laptops!” and the reporter seems like he’s trying to be a crusader for truth and justice and the first person on the street is totally apathetic, which is brilliant.

    Observation:

What I find interesting in watching people is what appears to be an increasing need/wanting to be engaged through technology - email, IM, gaming, reading, socializing etc

Its amazing to see how many people on the train in Hong Kong are either talking on their mobile phone, paying a game, texting or simply just playing around with their phone (features).

    AND/OR

Maybe its wanting to be connected without having to engage in face to face contact. Hence people sending emails before picking up the phone or walking over to a desk to speak with someone.
