Developers took most of the decisions. Bringing in "ordinary people" to the design process will help a lot I guess. I wish the Stockholm Public Transport authorities had done that when <a href="http://www.peterkrantz.com/2007/man-machine-interface/" rel="nofollow">designing the new ticket vending machines</a>...
