Ashoka's Changemakers, The Leading Open Source Innovation Community,
Selects Adaptive Path for a Website Strategy and Redesign
San Francisco, CA - Adaptive Path, Inc. announced today that it is working with Ashoka’s Changemakers to redesign and relaunch the world’s leading community of social innovators, Changemakers.net. The goal of this redesign is to provide the global community of social innovators connections to each other, funding, and resources to realize their visions. The Changemakers collaborative competition platform has attracted a diverse group of organizations including National Geographic, Nike, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Working with Adaptive Path represents a commitment to building a best in class engagement experience for social innovators everywhere.

Adaptive Path’s emphasis on collaboration and openness make it a perfect match for the culture and values of the Changemakers’ community. Adaptive Path focuses on creating great experiences that improve people’s lives and does this by working collaboratively with companies to understand their customers through research, strategy and the design of products and services. Both companies are passionate about community participation, sharing practices, methods, and learning.

“This is an exciting step for bringing Changemakers to the next level. This partnership is an investment that will allow us to craft an even more powerful experience for our community, amplifying their social impact, and we want to thank our funders and partners for helping us get to this place.” said Changemakers Executive Director, Charlie Brown. “We are taking the success of our collaborative competition platform and amplifying its ability to help innovators both realize their vision and share this vision with potential investors and other innovators.” Currently the new site is scheduled for release in late Spring 2009.

“Adaptive Path is committed to working with organizations that embrace the power of experience strategy and design to improve people’s lives. We’re thrilled to work with Changemakers because we also believe in the power of their open source approach to social innovation. This is the frontier of social innovation, and we have built our practice around designing products and services for organizations that are pushing boundaries” said Jesse James Garrett, President of Adaptive Path. “There is a need in the Changemakers community and among social innovators for new ways to connect to one another as well as potential supporters and investors. Changemakers helped redefine what social innovation can be through the open source model; we’re building a platform that will allow both Changemakers and the community to continue push the definition of social innovation even further.” said Henning Fischer, Design Strategist and Adaptive Path Project Lead.

Ashoka’s Changemakers is building an “open source” online community that competes to surface the best social solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. To date, Changemakers has attracted more than 4,000 solutions from more than 125 countries. www.changemakers.net.
